The way some Nintendo fans seem to live and die over Nintendo titles is because their home consoles end up with so few games. Everything released is under a microscope. Sometimes, both the optimism and cynicism seem very artificial. I see people talking up Devil's Third when it wouldn't get a second look if it were multi-platform release. People beg for development news, then they complain if a game is revealed too early.
That's the way it is when each game has to carry an entire fanbase for a period of time and the really big titles sometimes have to support an entire year.
