No the entire theme of Runa's comment was that Canada and Northern Europe are the greatest and all people will live happy lives with no predjudices here, and the "stupid country" (his words) that is the United States is so much worse in comparison. I disagree with that, and replied with Canada isn't perfect either. His post wasn't even about discrimination. Re-read it. "There is no racism, no sexism, and there is nothing which is in the way of religious intolerance." Obviously this isn't representative for all of Canada outside his workspace, just like the United States isn't represented by the bible belt.

Uh, that quote about "WE all get along" was referring to my job and the employees who work there despite our many differences.  Reading comprehension 101.

And you have got to learn to reign in your hyperbole.  I certainly didn't say that all people here are perfect and happy and living in a fantasy land without any prejudice. In fact, I even said "the only prejudice I regularly see in canada is against natives."  Which, at its core, counterbalances every single thing you've said about me and my post.  Had you actually read the whole post, you would see the ignorance in your response to it.

Though I did say america is stupid.  The country is.  The lawmakers are.  The government is.  I will forever stand by my statement as long as stupid people continue to vote in the stupid politicians and support stupid laws and stupid bills like the one in the topic of this post. And like every statement, there are exceptions.  I know plenty of intelligent americans, I don't think they're all dumb, but the ones who support this kind of nonsense are. and clearly there are enough of them to warrant such a response.

I didn't say you explicitly said it represented all of Canada, the implication was that your very accepting workspaces represents a cohesive sentiment of Canada though in the context of the thread, which I criticized with my original response by providing examples otherwise. What is the pont of mentioning your workspace if you don't think it represents Canada in general?

It's not like such workspaces don't exist in the United States either. It is closed-minded to think so.
