Splatoon 1080p 60fps? And If so what does this say about Nintendo's future titles on Wii U?

It is 720p, but I've noticed that the image quality isn't that bad. There is obvious aliasing here and there, but the image is crisp and sharp, which can't be said for many 720p games.
