Windows 10 almost has me wanting an XB1. But alas I have a PS4 already and won't be owning multiple consoles this gen. At least not any time soon. Cross platform play may actually become a reality this generation as a rule and not the exception like in the past. With few exceptions, it has been a miserable failure. W10 may push it towards the mainstream
Universal apps will be huge. This is what MS needs to help bolster its market place. Right now it's a distant third compared to Gplay and the Apple App store. Universal apps will bring them into actually competing directly. App devs won't be able to ignore the ability to create one app that is available on three platforms. Especially, when MS is pretty much giving the OS away for free.
I'm pumped. I have my Surface pro 3 and my Lumia 925 ready for W10.
