To paraphrase a post of mine from five minutes ago:

The average quality of games on a system only matters if you plan to play (a) ALL of the games on that system, or (b) a COMPLETELY RANDOM SAMPLE of games on that system.

If you plan to choose the games you play with some eye toward professional reviews, personal recommendations, etc. (rather than at random), then the AVERAGE game quality doesn't matter AT ALL... as long as there are enough good games on the system (in terms of absolute number, not ratio) to keep you busy.
