I adored the Dreamcast at the time despite initially ignoring it on release. I purchased a discounted model and was blown away with the games available. I prefered Shenmue I and II to any Zelda game. I loved the 2D and 3D beat em ups and there was loads of them. There were also a huge number of quirky games that you didn't see on other consoles. Part of the charm was the absolutely amazing VGA quality. It looked truly stunning on my AE100 projector. The whole wall was alive with gaming. While the ps2 was a capable console its video output quality was dire and also the original xbox was a a little dark. Only the Gamecube really competed using the very expensive component cable. To me both N64 and PS2 were only really suitable for connection to small CRT sets such was their poor quality output.

Looking at this video there is at least 40 games I remember really enjoying;

I still believe it was under-rated considering the gameplay goodness it offered.
