| Tecmo said: Well, I have solved the problem. After checking to see if my fan speed was still ok under load (it was), buying arctic silver 5 on amazon, and almost buying Corsair Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition Liquid CPU Cooler I decided to turn off the power and take a closer look at he cpu fan and see if I could find any problems. After about 10 seconds of looking at the cpu fan, I pushed down on the push pins that intel uses to hold the fan down (I forgot that they use these shitty things instead of screws). I noticed that when I pushed down on one it would literally push the fan down and the other side diagonal would come up. It seems after 3.5 years the push pins needed tightened. Cpu is back to running normally. Just wanted to say thanks for all the replies. I think I might still buy that Corsair liquid cooler because I would like to overclock my cpu a tiny bit, but at the least I'm going to take off the old thermal paste and apply some new arctic. THANKS again everybody! |
Glad it was nothing, in the end. =)
