When Amazon originally launch the concept was they would sell product for other retailers in a consolidated location. So if you own a store and want to be able to sell something online you could post it on Amazon and they would sell it and take a cut. When Amazon began to boom they began stocking their own product (this is obviously more profitable because they keep the whole profit instead of just a cut).
That is why you can find great deals on Amazon, many times retailers use it to get rid of stock. What I think we are seeing is retailers trying to clear out the ACU bundle using Amazon.
