The PS3 is going to beat the ps2 and the Wii. The ps3 has stronger legs long term - the Wii is doing amazingly, though too much hot air runs out fast. There will be a point when people want more. Can Nintendo offer more? - they have most of their big guns out. What's after Wii Fit? If they make more peripherals; it's only going to cheapen the Wii and make it look kiddy.

I think the supply issue has made an interest for people as they wanna know what it is like. Casuals don't play games all the time - soccer mums don't play all the time and old people don't play all the time - that goes for all consoles.

The ps3 and 360 offer more in multimedia and connectivity. Gaming is important, but the integration of other media's blends in well and is slowly becoming the new way of technology - not only for consoles but other media devices i.e. mobile, hd players, tv, media players etc as they offer internet, firmware updates, online shopping, gps.

So the appeal for just gaming is slowly slipping away. We all want standards i.e. chat, video chat, music, picture slides, achievement charts, online competition etc We as gamers are accustomed to the new standards that gaming consoles have become.

So my point is. Long term what does the Wii offer to cater for the growing majority that would like the now standards of gaming and the glimpse of the future tech? The Wii is making strides in this gen - but people become apathetic using gimmicks (imo) like the Wii controller and wii fit - even the sixaxis (which I don't care much about). Most people like to pick up and play and get on with their day. This is all my view point - but I can't see how the Wii can last more than 5 more years max. If it can then surely it can beat the ps2 - and it should as it is the newer tech. but let's see... the 360 could win :P not!!!!
