I think remasters are good when the game in question hasn't been touched in several years. It gives an opportunity for people who missed the game or a new generation to play the game themselves.
While it may not be a bad thing, remasters for games only a year or 2 old leave a salty taste in my mouth. The game is readily available to pick up and I don't see much of a need to remaster it. If more consoles were BC, there would almost be no need for them. Of course, there is always the chance a company or dev team wants to remaster their game, which I can't fault them for doing what they want.
