Also, you are just compounding the problems that many gamers have with the lack of Backwards compatibility and squeezing more money out of them in what feels like a very anti-consumer fashion. Additionally, every exclusive game ever would suffer the same fate. If you want to play the game, get a console that can play the game. We as gamers shouldn't be treated like we have a one week attention span and an inability to buy anything that came out more than a month ago. If we really want the game, we can get it for another console. If not, well then I guess we didn't really want the game.... It just feels like padding in a schedule, providing old experiences on new consoles, where a lot of gamers are currently crying out for new experiences. |
Backward compatability would bump the price of a console by 100-150, you'd have to have ps3's cell architecture + x86, so a bigger sized console which consumes more power despite not even using most of it half the time. Because PS4 isnt that significant of a jump to emulate last gen games.

Whats wrong with having new ip's, existing titles in franchises and remasters? Remasters sell consoles, good for gamers. Remasters give more money to the dev, good for gamers. At the end of the day, we still choose whether we wanna buy a remaster or not. If millions of people are buying remasters, naturally there is a demand for ps3-gen games on ps4. If it gets to the point where the majority of people dont want remasters, they wont buy it. Then comapnies will stop making..
