An announcement is something which is revealed or declared before a group (which you expect is coming), and a release date is when said product is officially expected. Ferguson said to expect Gears news at E3 so its confirmed Gears will be there in some capacity. GDC is nothing compared to E3 and its a mistake to even speak about it in the same sentence as E3. Tomb Raider was the moneyhatted third party but business is business and we can no longer do anything about it anymore (and it hurts even more that Uncharted was pushed back but if it makes the game better then so be it). I am just glad I am one of the lucky ones who owns both a PS4 and an Xbox One so I dont get shafted by Microsoft. Personally, it would be best for a lot of people to own three consoles if they want the true experience, but it cannot be expected. Thats just not realistic. Thats not to say that Microsoft isn't killing it right now because they are throwing their weight around. Scalebound is said to be the biggest project Platinum Games has ever worked on with Microsoft dollars behind it. Ken Lobb said its going to be a "Game of all time"? Yeah....thats called hype. Killer Instinct 3 is going to be announced at E3 for sure because there aren't many slots left in the season two bracket. The ball is in Microsofts court as far as a slew of expected major exclusives. Sony might be winning but Microsoft has been busy getting third party to work for them and they are making Sony and Nintendo look like slouches when it comes to higher name titles. I hope all three are going to have great E3's but right now I have a feeling that Microsoft might take it this year with more Halo 5 gameplay, Quantum Break info, the Gears reveal, Tomb Raider 2 gameplay, Scalebound gameplay reveals (which I believe Lobb said to expect), killer instincts season 3 reveal as well as Crackdown 3 and much, much more. Dude...seriously If you cannot even realize how many games I have mentioned just now before they are about to reveal more games its about to get overwhelming. I didnt take Phil Spencer serious at first at the beginning of the year when he said the amount of games he knows are coming are "crowded", but when I list everything and realize E3 still has more reveals coming its almost becoming overwhelming. Even though Sony is wining its Microsofts E3 to lose when it comes to expected games. Oh yeah, how could I forget Forza 6 as well and the Battletoads cameo in Shovel Knight? I don't know bro, I don't know. As for what I expect to be reveal from Sony at E3, its definitely God of War 4 and the new Guerilla Games IP as well as Uncharted gameplay and possibly a reveal of Naughty Dogs latest project. One Youtube Playstation gamer said he has a feeling the reason why Uncharted was pushed back because Sony is using the same initiative that Microsoft used with Halo MCC in revealing a Uncharted remastered collection to hype people up for the holiday season before 4. Its not confirmed but its a pretty interesting thing that I thought I would take note of. |
I got gdc mistaken for the europe gameshow that happened at germany last year like 2 month after E3 i belive, gdc just happened.
Ok dude, I get it, but my point is that seeing the same things we saw last year, even if its just gameplay of a cgi video we saw last year still holds a lot less power. If what you expect to happen happens, and that is what is shown with the regular third party games that get shown at sonys and the individual conferences, people will fall asleep at the MS conference. It will show that MS blew all their load at last years E3 by showing things that where not even be ready for so many years to try to beat sony.
Now lets look back at last years E3, Most of the games shown at the sony press conference have been release, uncharted was never going to be release before this E3 and untill dawn still has a shot a releasing before E3, And I think let it die was another game i cant remember that other bloody game.
Now lets look at MS, neither halo nor tomb raider noe quantum brake, wich where their biggest hitters will come before E3, they are not even confirmed for this year, then the rest like crackdown and scalebound wich werent even planed for this year to beging with.
That to me sounds like a faliure of a presentation and they are on their way to do the same thing this year. You think people dont notice this? You think people will just brainlessly clap for them and love them seeing their cristmass box whyle the competition anounces more and delivers more around the year? I think your right about the anouncement thing, but E3 is more about news to me than updates about old news. Every new game anounced for the competition will count as more then double than new trailers of an old game.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
