you can strategize better with the enemies already there. also if youre going to walk around them why even play the game? You might do that when you're low on health or something, just like you can run away from fights in random encounter games

But that's just it, I don't want to strategise before I even go into the battle, I want to have to do it on the fly. If i see a bomb before I fight them, I know to switch to an ice weapon or have fire protection, but if I don't I can't so have to make amends in battle. This is far more interesting.
