yea combat and story stucture are not traditional. Everything else is. Its not a mainline FF, so you should not expect the story structure to be. The combat is fun. Combine fun combat with Traditional lore and presentation and world layout and you please most people. Its the 1st FF game I have played since 9 that really captures many of the old school elements for me.
