We should ban people more often :)
kn - Yes, for the Xbox, PS2, and GC (as well as most every console), major sales came when the price dropped by 30%+, regardless of system. The PS2 sold great when it was $199 and below, same for Xbox. GC did OK when it hit $129, and so on.
IF microsoft decided to drop the price of the Arcade to $199 by the end of 2008, it should start selling near it's maximum potential. The "real" question is if/when the 360 Premium hits that number.
