Although some genres REALLY have progressed like FPS or Action Adventure (Tomb Raider vs. Uncharted lol), RPGs have gone downhill in my opinion. Space shooters do not exist anymore. And for RTS my hope lies on Starcraft2. |
I replayed fallout 1& 2 a few months ago they still hold up well had a lot of fun. Several years ago I tried to replay bauldars gate and I could not get past the graphics. I tried betrayal at krondor in dosbox a few weeks ago and man is it unbelivably ugly and clunky.
IMO mechanics, story, and depth often outclass what is available today but its hard to get past sound and apperance when replaying an old classic.
