How does this take away that? Nintendo wouldn't be spending that much resources due to this being a partnership. Also Nintendo wouldn't survive very long just on home consoles and handhelds. Also Nintendo is still in the dedicated gaming business.....

Read the post again. Nintendo games are not exclusive on Nintendo systems anymore and that is their consoles' biggest strength. Nintendo may not surving very long on just console and handheld gaming but that doesnt mean they can find other ways to stay viable besides making games for other systems and potentially hurting the sales of their own.
