The only people who are upset about this are uppity ninnies so trapped in the past that they can't appreciate that this could be a good move overall for nintendo so long as they don't dump too much money into the venture and treat mobile gaming as a supplemental revenue stream. So long as nintendo doesn't come to rely on the mobile market it shouldn't become too much of a problem for them.
