Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony do not care about customer satisfaction they all only care about maximising profits. Gazz welcome to the world of business. Companies only care about their share holder's, maximising profits, customers are only a means to making profits for the companies. Business is Business.

And there I was naivly thinking large groups of consumers avoiding products actually mattered. Thanks for setting me straight, I now believe that a product with a bad reputation in a market with more competition is a good thing and sales figures of the 360 compared to others are perfect. The huge losses on the 360 and previous xbox are also a huge indication of the succes. What worked for MS in a market with no competition (offering a poor os and advertising it heavily) should also work in a market with well suited opponents that have a way bigger market share then them. The fact that the Wii has already passed them in sales and the PS3 gardually starts to outsell them proves your point.  Business is business as you say, poor business that is. In all fairness, if MS didn make such a ridiculous amount of profit on Windows in a market with no real competition they would have never let the Xbox project continue.

 

All the satuisfied customers don't make a difference in an age that people gather more and more info on products trough the internet then ever before. Thank you for setting me straight with info pulled out of a 1980's business school book.
