Yes you are right it is not just about the US. However, last christmas supply was in plenty around the world (I did hear a few places in europe had shortage the last week before CMAS, but it was not a matter of not enough supply, just supply not in the right place). This year the PS4 will be a year older and as of now it does not have a super big game coming out in the fall. I think they will definitly need to cut the price or risk losing momentum. I think they cut the price in september to coincide with the Halo launch.
