From northern Mexico. Few but a considerable amount of people do think that a decade starts at 0 instead of 1 though, it depends with each person, although it's not a very discussed topic, might be the reason why there's no universal consensus. Also, when people talk about the 80s, for example, people usually refer to the mid-years, 1983, 84, 85, 86, etc... there's no beginning, it just feels like the 80s. And yead, it's weird, but we can live with it


no, literally a particular decade would be from 00-09, 2010-2019, or in your example, 1980-1989. there is no debate about that. personally you can 'feel' whatever you want but stating that the definition of a decade in terms of literal years in the human accepted timeline is arguable is incorrect
