Oh the good old days, where you and your friends could play an entire day of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, go to sleep, and do it all again the next day. Call of Duty just doesn’t have that lure anymore, rather that be the unrealistically of Advanced Warfare, or the fact that MW2 had as close to perfect maps as a game could get, it’s the player’s decision. The thing is, most gamers have a fond memory in past Call of Duty’s, and 9 times out of ten it was from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. If you ask a Call of Duty player why exactly Modern Warfare 2 was a good game, most will agree that they aren’t sure what it is exactly, it could be a number of reasons, but it could possibly stem from the balance of weapons, of course guns like the UMP could be considered overpowered but guns in newer games (like the BAL-27 in Advanced Warfare) take this to a whole new level, making guns in MW2 seem like the most balanced set of weapons in years.
Whatever the case, Australian gamer Ramez Zahra and more than 150,000 others agree that this should be Infinity Ward’s and Activision’s new project. Whatever you do though, do not give your hopes up. Change.org has a lot of (useless) petitions for things that simply will not happen which have thousands of signatures, if anything I suggest waiting until either Infitinty Ward or Activision speak up on the matter and go from there. While it would be very nice to have a remake of arguably the best Call of Duty to ever hit store shelves, it’s simply not likely given the fact that there were problems at the time and the co-creators of the game (West and Zampella) left as the game was making waves in the gaming industry. All we gamers can do is hope and see what will happen in the near future if either company makes a statement on the matter. We will update you with any new information as soon as it’s released.
