Didn't MS show a gears logo at e3? or atleast talk about it?
Pretty sure it's been officially confirmed before.
Edit: ok it wasn't at e3, but it's been confirmed for almost a year that Black Tusk is working on it. This is in Black Tusk's Twitter bio.

I'm 99% sure it'll be at microsofts e3 this year, 80% sure with gameplay footage.
