What we did get a couple of months ago that specified some unreleased information, which included no voice chat in random matches for example, cannot be taken as being "confirmed" for the game. A lot of people were put off by this. We'll need exact confirmation of the features until we share our thoughts about what we might think is "fact." All of this, again, leads into the fact that we haven't seen the game in months and have no further legit information from Nintendo themselves.
If Nintendo wants to go for the Hyrule Warriors route with DLC, they could monitor the demand of regional online play and release another online mode, say Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag as DLC. Would this even be possible? I would hate to see Splatoon fall hard in its multiplayer after we, the consumers, hint multiplayer as a demanding feature.
