Will open world games be the dominant genre this gen, like FPS was last gen?

I think so. A lot of the big games are becoming more open. Just look at this year: Zelda, Uncharted, MGS, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Dying Light, The Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed Victory, The Division, etc. The industry is clearly shifting.
