I agree to the extent the fan base is splintered due to changes. I never like XII combat, but I really had fun in XIII for first time since IX. I am indifferent to XV's take, so I'll buy it after a price drop. I would note anyone who followed the lengthy development process knows this game was not originally sold as a mainline entry. I will be curious what XVI does with the series (assuming it is not an MMO).
