I am pretty sure i didnt have to pay a dime to play online on te dreamcast. Maybe it was different in the US? For europeans the outcry is very justified.
Also... cmon... online play is free on the PC. How do you justify the same thing beeing a P2P on consoles? The cost of the servers is minimal and its off set by the boxed/digital sales. But alas, we must be made to pay not only for the product, the hardware for the product but aswell the permission to play the product. On my book, that really isnt acceptable.
