The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'. Just because the people you know have stopped playing or never started playing their Wii does not mean that they are representative of the majority, or even of a significant number of people. I would think, if interest had truly dropped off in any meaningful way for the Wii, that we would see sales of Wii software plummet accordingly. Especially for titles which appeal largely to new users, such as Wii Play.
