I think he meant bitmap over 3d models in general

Bingo, KoFXIII felt like a true successor to the 2D fighter family, and the SFIV engine didn't.  Just didn't like the direction.  It's not a statement about the Unreal 4 engine, it's about the art style/direction (for me, anyway).

what about what Ark System Works did to Guilty Gear Xrd? its 3d models that look like 2d sprites, in my opinion its the true evolution of sprites (they look so GOOD), would you have like that direction if Capcom did the same thing with SFV?

Well, SNK did something similar, the characters themselves (I believe) are 3D models, but with 2D sprites hand drawn over the models.  The style and presentation was just fantastic.  I honestly haven't played GGXrd, so I can't comment on it, but I'll take a look at some videos and get back to you on that.

EDIT: Watched a couple fights, I like that engine more than the current SF engine, but I think the KoFXIII is still the better (to me, again, take it with a grain of salt).  Now, it could also be because I'm not hugely familiar with Guilty Gear (I can recall at least 1 GG game I played), so there's that to consider.  In a perfect world, Capcom and SNK would do another VS game, on the SNK engine.  (CvsSNK2 is still probably my favorite fighter of all time).
