Not counting two world wars originating in the midst of Europe there have been a lot of "movements" that has scared the shit out of middle class europeans:
communism
suffragets (femminism)
emancipation
secularization
unions
collapse of imperialism
Cold War (nuclear threat)
IRA
RAF (Rote Armee Fraktion - Baader-Meinhof Group )
ETA (Basque National Liberation Movement)
Skinheads
Neo-fascists
Breakdown of the Iron Curtain
EU-extension to eastern europe (mass immigration of poor people)
Saddam Hussein
Muammar Gaddafi
Argentina (Falkland Islands - Islas Malvinas)
Ayatollah Khomein
Soviet
Putin
China

In essence - we, the europeans are allways afraid of something, because we are so meek, humble, submissive and tolerant!

We the Europeans? "We" are dozens of different races. Please don't speak for me as meek or submissive. You can only speak for yourself.Everyone here has the same problem and the prominent problem with the world. People making rash generalizations. Categorizing people is just plain ignorant. Having lived in Europe and the usa, I have met more submissive people in the usa, but I would never make this kind of ridiculous statement. just as most of the people here are making massive generalizations about a religion of 1 billion people. ( I should say a group of religions just like within Christianity there are insane cults. But hey, that must mean all Christians are insane)

i recently received an email from an old American bigot in relation to "Europeans" and what the evil Europeans did to the Jews. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's wrong with this statement but it's the same thing that's wrong with all the statements here.
