On the heels of every XB1 being a dev kit, Win 10-XB1 simultaneous developemnt i think indies would be fine on XB1. Heck MSFt just announced about 30 indies at GDC, it's not like Xb1 fans were starved. My point is the fact that if I am an indie developer, why on earth would I even care about the Xb1 version until after I complete the PC or ps4 verions. At least the parity clause offered some incentive to treat Xb1 indie gamers as equals. Personally if there was an indie I wanted that wasn't moneyhatted, I wouldn't be happy waiting an extended period to finally play it. Remember I only speak for myself, just my personal opinion, it is ok to disagree* |
The parity clause did not treat X1 indie gamers as equals. It deprived X1 gamers of a bunch of games that would've been on the platform had it not been for the draconion rules. Indie developers want to release their games on as many platforms as they can to maximize revenue. However, the parity clause prevents them from doing that. As a result, they opted for releasing on the PS4 and PC rather than complying with the clause because they get more money that way.
You say you only speak for yourself and yet described MS dropping the parity clause as a "terrible, terrible" thing. That's not speaking for yourself. There is also a difference between having a well-supported opinion vs. an opinion that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
