I don't think he really means it.  The subsequent sentence said he will play them if they are good enough,  2 per year his example.  That sounds like he does care.  

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to tell others how I feel. I really don't care personally about the games, it's the principle that I don't like. 

PS the only indie I will actually purchase this year will be Cuphead and i recently bought limbo for the first time, hence the maybe 2 per year.
