 No, not necessarily. The date of purchase is not the same as the manufacturing date. I got my 360 in August 2007, and it was manufactured in September 2006, for example. Check the back of his console to see when it was manufactured. If the manufacturing date is October 2007 or later then it had the falcon chip in it.
