Uhmmmm yes. Yes they are. Toy is a totally subjective term that is essentially defined by pleasure /enjoyment and use in case you haven't read the various definitions posted here.

With that being said, working on cars is a hobby of mine in which I find much pleasure as well as driving them and "playing" with them. So yeah, for me a car can easily be a toy.
