Ah, the Times. The same jokers who sold us weapons of mass liposuction, the Terror War ("Heck, I wasn't using those Constitutional rights anyway"), the dotcom bubble ("Stocks can only go up!") and the housing bubble ("Mortgages can only go up!").
Give their fondess for peddling unreality, it doesn't surprise me that they can't figure out the realities of a $40 billion annual gaming industry.
