I mean we all love to say IGNorant but lets be honest here, IGN hasnt really focused on video games in LONG time. I wouldnt be surprised if they get more traffic for "whose gonna be in the next Marvel movie" article than say a review for anything that would be considered a less than AAA game

Smaller sites are the cost of some cheap hosting,  larger sites have staff to employ, servers to pay for,  the corporations that own them want to see a return in investment,  the stakes are much higher. 

 

Being a big site doesnt make them above dirty tactics,  it just makes them better at getting away with it.
