Either late this gen (2009+) or next gen for the MS/Sony copying technology.

I'm just stating that I would think that if MS and Sony thought they were losing alot of sales entirely due to the Wiimote itself, they'd put alot of money into it to develop a better system. Like with the Rumble Pack - it was eventually itergrated into Sony's copycat system (if I remember right), which was indeed better than just having a pack. Also, rumble sensitivity was introduced later, ect, ect. Eventually, when someone innovates, they get in a war with the rest, and the general quality will improve.

I believe that most of the improvements will come when MS and Sony try to one-up the Wiimote's abilities.

Mrstickball there is one thing that you forgot: price. Nintendo usually deliver cheaper hardware and acessories than others. GC controller is 20, PS2 25, Xbox 30. This generation we have SIXAXIS  for 50, Wiimote 40 + nunchuk 20 and Xbo360 wireless for 60. Do you really think M$ can add all Wiimote features and sell it for less than 100 bucks? Sony would have even more trouble, first SIXAXIS, then SIXAXIS with rumble and them SIXAXIS 3 with rumble and better accuracy. That wont help with their customer satisfaction problems. As for M$ they would lose the advantage on the price they have over Sony. What is the point of telling us their controllers are better than Nintendo and have more features if they are double the price? Do not forget that Nintendo always had a great advantage in quality and reliability of their products, just because the competition want to follow them does not mean they can.
