1. Life sure is easy when your imaginary friends constantly tell you that you are the best and that everything you do is righteous and exceptional.

2. Help people because of their hardships, not to gain bonus points to get into heaven.

3. Understand that millions of people help WITHOUT being religious.

1. Guess I don't apply under this then.

2. This sounds like Islam: No Christian who knows what the Bible says, and applies that to their life, would help people only for such a selfish reason.

3. I never said that this isn't true.

You missed a part of my quote. It still rings true though.

I'm assuming you're religious. I'm assuming you believe in God and his words. Is that wrong? If so, then I made mistake. Otherwise, 1. applies to you. By following the words of God you are always correct and without any faults. That is the very basis of religion (self-confirmation, feeling like you matter, being a part of something big), and a massive reason why people like it. When you "know" that your every view and thought about everything is right (because God said so!), then it gets very easy to put yourself above people. I'm no heaven-expert, but that seems like a bad thing to do.

2. You decide on your own what it means to be christian? :o Impressive!
Let me tell you a little secret: People, are different. People take in religion in different ways. The vocal majority (in other words those who scream the loudest and make the boldest claims, those who start flamewars in youtube comments, those who start threads with condesending bullshit about how eveyone else is wrong and that they and only they know what the true truth is, which then leads to massive reply chains) very often brag about how they help people. They are better than everyone else because they help and that makes them amazing. That is a disgustingly selfish reason, but those people are absolutely christian. Sure not everyone is like that, but here is something interesting:

I'd rather do other things than this. I'd be doing other things than this if I were selfish. I also wouldn't be advising you to help homeless people instea of playing video games if I were selfish.
--------------------------------------
At least I'm doing stuff that could benefit others.

See that? Those are your words. And you are bragging about how good you are, and how bad we are, because you are so "unselfish" and you "help" people. (you're also assuming that it is impossible for anyone of us to be helping people too, even if we post in this forum or "waste" time with video games)

3. This is just me reading into this stereotype that you are currently displaying and giving a counter argument before you made the actual argument. Presumptuous of me, I know. It usually goes something like this "You don't help people so you are bad. I help people because God said so. You suck"
I'm sorry for getting ahead of myself, you apparently don't subscribe to that kind of thinking.

Let me just ask, what did you hope to achieve with this thread? There are no hidden undertones in that sentence. I genuinely wanna know.
