Nopes, Steam will automatically run and log in at start up as it runs in the tray. That's the default behaviour.

Except... it doesn't. There is a tick box in the settings for 'run steam when my computer starts' which by default is off.

I need to test it again by re-installing but if it wasn't ticked by default, it wouldn't have been running on my laptop.
