I know Im in the minority here but I never liked the Suikoden series, the games never went very well with me, I guess the hughe number of playable characters anoyed me somewhat becuase Im always trying to play all of them and I cant wrap my head around why would I have an army of companions and only ever take like 4 to battle, its easier to acept this sort of thing when your party is just 8 or so.

Admittedly, trying to get 108 party members might seem daunting but it really isn't that bad. Most characters are actually quite easy to get (Atleast in S1&2). The cool thing is that some characters actually aren't used for battling and have other purposes. For example, a recruitable character is able to store all of your unwanted items or perhaps even better, in S2 a character can be used to gain information on certain party members and/or how to recruit them (Kinda useless now because of GameFAQs but still..). Also, Suikoden games allow a party of upto six for battles with the exception of Suikoden IV which reduces the party limit to 4 (Although, S4 is considered the worst entry in the series by many). Not to mention the army battles are really cool and feel grand.

But I digress, different strokes for different folk. I mean, I don't like the Xenosaga trilogy or the Kingdom Hearts series.
