as a fan of fighting games i hate to say it but you're right. a year ago i started going to an arcade spot in the mall that hosted console fighting games play every thursday, and peoples' social skills are just very lacking, and when they do speak EVERYBODY has to talk as if I'm a noob at fighting games (I'm not pro worthy, but i hold my own and can make a match lively). and then you get the butthurt people who don't like such and such technique or character, or the over arrogant wanna be pro, etc. But i can't deny the competition, if you're like me and can block out people bad attitudes, both online and in person, and just enjoy the game and challenge, its very satisfying. |
I genuinely wish I wasn't as easily pissed as I am. Hat's off to you for sticking at it.
There's no excuse for ignorance, it's not hard to be nice, everyone's got to start somewhere. People like that do nothing but back up the mainstream's claims that all gamers are basement dwelling arseholes.
