It was untill it got horribly reptitive, even more repetitive than monster hunter. A big issue I think was that you had no goals to go for as farming equipment was completely random, so you couldn't try and get parts you needed by fighting certain monsters. Well that and the fact that the few monsters really didn't require any differing tactics to beat. Still I had fun while it lasted, just never finished the game. Might try and finish it again soonnow that it's been a while since I last played it.

So were drops for certain things random then? Would you say this game is worth picking up some time?

Well I never really figured out the drop/weapon system, it's all very random. All I knew was that every now and then id get something better. Or you could try to make better weapons, but again that was very random and wouldn't necessarily give you anything better. It's not like monster hunter where you need certain parts to upgrade. Somebody else in this thread might be able to explain it??
If i had to choose between freedom wars and monster hunter id go monster hunter.
