I first started gaming in the late 80's/early 90's I think, and it's all thanks to my older brother who had an Amiga 600 (or something like it). He, me and our younger twinbros played a lot together, mostly strategy games like War Lords and Civilization.
When I turned 8 (maybe?) I got MY first console, the awesome NES. We played a lot of Mario and Zelda on that machine. I still have it plugged in to my TV ^^ But we never really quit playing the Amiga and strategy games.
My little bro eventually bought his very own N64, and them graffix blew us away! It was awesome! Zelda was the high light of course ^^ We three younger brothers eventually convinced dad to get us a PS1, and I played a lot of Warcraft 2 on that machine - and Soul Blade. Damn, that was some good times ^^ I also moved on to Civ II on PC around this time.
When I moved out I got my first very own PC, and more or less forgot about console games for quite a few years. I played mostly Civ II and III but also got introduced to Europa Universalis II by my older bro. And that's how things were for a long time; a lot of strategy games (mostly the Civ- and EU-series) on PC.
Then at Fall '07 I visited one of my little brothers, who owned a Wii. I loved it from the moment I started playing. Wii Sports was awesome. Zelda TP was awesome. It was awesome. I used to come by him on my way to or from College to play some Zelda. It was around this time me and some friends and my younger bros started to play a lot of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, usually on our way to the pub. In 2010 I got my own Wii - my first own console in a VERY long time.
In 2013 I got my first handheld console, the 3DS, together with Zelda ALBW. Nowadays, I play on my 3DS, Wii and PC and are just waiting for the right time to buy a Wii U.
Thanks to Nintendo and the Wii I'm yet again a happy console gamer :D
