I think the soundtrack is excellent, was just listening to it again a few days ago. Yes, the story does start out slow although, Disk 2 does pick things up. So it seems that you think FFVIII is a little weird but an alright game which is pretty much how I feel about the game. But seriously, beat FFVIII and get to FFIX (Easily the best PS1 FF imo).

Also, have you watched Spoony's review of the game? If not, you should watch it after you beat the game. It's hilarious!

Also, yeah, I know some people here love this game, I'm not stopping here, I'll beat it, I want to do it. I hope I enjoy it more from now on

I suggest marathoning the game when you get close to the end (you will know).  :D

 

Every now and then FFX and FFVIII switch placees in my top 2, depends on the mood I guess.
