It all started for me as a 6yr old kid back in 1987 with the amstrad. at this point games cane on cassette tapes and had a 17min load time to start menu.
Then in 1989 I got a PAL NES, a few months later my old man travelled to the states and bought 10 games. And I met metal gear. However I couldn't play any of the games cause they were NTSC, so waited another 3 months for an NTSC NES.
In 1992 I went to a friends house and saw contra 3 and that was that, I was hooked. Two months later finally talked my mum into buying me a SNES. She vowed that was the last games console she would ever buy for me, woman wasn't kidding.
I waited patiently for the "ultra 64" while dabbling in a booking console exchange program at the time amongst friends so I got to play the Philips cdi, 3D0 and the Atari jaguar. then sometime in 1995 I was watching a show called games world and saw a commercial.... all I remember were the words "u r not re d" and bow I knew of this thing called the PlayStation. I didn't buy it yet tho, was still waiting for the N64, until I went to my local arcade and played tekken and children of the atom. only to hear they were also on the PlayStation and that was that.. bye bye Nintendo.
I have since got every PlayStation console within the first year of release and never looked back since.
