Gamecube had a really good button configuration, for those of us that does not have very nimble fingers. You know which button is the YES/action button without having to look (the BIG one in the middle).
Softwarewise it has some of the games I played the most:
- Fire Emblem (replayed every other year)
- Smuggler's Run (this was the future of racing games, I thought)
- Animal Crossing (had to use a Freeloader disc EVERY time I went to my village - but it was worth it)
- Paper Mario (replayed every third year - been a while now)
- Super Mario Sunshine (makes me happy)
- Double Dash (Baby Park battles were intense)
- Metroid
- The Wind Waker
- Twilight Princess
- Star Wars Rogue Leader (looked so good)
- Resident Evil 4
- Need for Speed (better than most that has come after it)
- Viewtiful Joe
- TimeSplitters (knew every inch of all the maps)
- Chibi-Robo! (I like to clean things up!)
- Super Monkey Ball
- Pikmin
- Ikaruga (we put the old "fat" TV on the side to play it properly)
- The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (the best tLotR game I have played)
- Beyond Good & Evil ("Propaganda")
