I think sales will be good enough for a sequel. But the studio themselves and Sony might not like that idea, and thus cut them short of a sequel. Why?
The studio may be disheartened by the bad press and decide that a different franchise is the way to go.
Sony might put them back on minor games, because they succeeded very well there.
