Oh, so you're kinda like me it seems. As in, I started getting into Zelda in 2012 and by 2013 I was just playing every single game and loving the hell out of every single one. So if we are to follow the same path, I'll warn you: be ready for the future. The year after, the horrifying Zelda Hangover attacked. For months and months without end, I could barely play any Zelda game without getting quickly bored. I still loved them, but... it wasn't the same anymore This horrible situation is still ongoing up to this day, though for the last 6 months or so it's been slowly fading away. I mean, I totally beat both TLOZ and ALttP so far this year and am crazy about playing MM3D next week, but... I dunno, there's still a certain magic that's not there anymore. I think I just need something fresh. I think once Zelda Wii U comes out this whole thing will be shattered and I'll get back to feeling the same way I did in the past. But I'm being maybe a bit too dramatic here. The love is still there, as obviously I'm voting Zelda on this very same thread. Maybe I just need to play Skyward Sword again (god I love that game). Nintendo, please hurry up and release it on the eShop already! |
Yep, I started playing it in 2014 and now I can't get enough. MM3D is already becoming my 2nd favorite in the franchise, and I only just beat the 1st dungeon.
I get what you're saying. Though I think it can be applied to any form of media, especially when you marathon it. Also, a franchise is almost always its most fresh and exciting when you first play it. Wind Waker was my first Zelda and it was absolutely magical. Nothing else like it. I don't think that exact feeling will ever be recreated, but I appreciate the other games for different reasons! I think Zelda U will be one of the most otherworldly gaming experiences ever. It'll be epic.
Skyward Sword is pretty great. Hopefully they do decide to give it an eShop release!
