I never played dark souls before only demon souls when i had a PS+ subscription and i couldnt beat the first level and didnt played it afterwards, like almost all games i got with my subscription. Neverless i think the game should be designed how the devolopers itended it to be and not how a certain group of people want it to be.
Best example i can think of
Pulstar released in 1996, its one of my favorite games off all time, and i never could beat it until this year. I couldnt imagine this game being made easier and still having the same experience, so i feel the same about bloodborne. And pulstar actually got a successor called blazingstar in 1999 which lets you start where you left off provided you have the coins or access to unlimted credits. While pulstar doesnt cares and forces you to start all over again at the checkpoint.
Blazzingstar feels like any genric shmup without any tactics or thought process. Pulstar on the other hand is a huge challenge but fair, one hit and you start all over again. Yet its a much better expierence than pressing A all the time just to stare at the good graphics.
Once you remove the difficulty of bloodborne the game could be another the Order 1886 or Ryse, good graphics but maybe too fast and too easy to beat? And no deep game mechanics as you wont care anymore because its not necessary to beat the game? Is that people want another Ryse or the Order which are viewed as not good games? It seems you never can satisfy people.
Also it is possible to beat souls games without any skill, on pc there mods and consoles have xploder and stuff.
