I like the fact that Souls doesn't give you difficulty. Like old Megaman games. You either suck it up and go through the challenge or you put the game down and go play something else.
Or they could also do like Catherine. Release a patch that introduces a "very easy" mode that literally makes you cheat to beat the game, because otherwise even on Easy the game kicks your ass
